How To Eat Healthier: Body For Life for the Lazy & Paranoid
When I first began the Body For Life program, one of my main concerns was the ability to maintain the diet.
The diet in BFL basically revolves around having six small meals per day; each one includes a serving of protein, and a serving of carbohydrate. Twice a day, you include a serving of vegetables. Once a day, you also have a serving of ‘healthy fat’. (more…)
The Bravery - Self Titled
*Reprinted from Cash’s “Runners Up” to the Top 5 of 2005 list

Neu-wave Cure-a-likes that make it sound fun and fresh even though the sounds are decidedly dated. How could I say no to a band that uses the lyric:
‘you put the broke in, broken hearted, you put the art in, retarded’?
Answer: I can’t. A solid, consistently enjoyable disc.

How To Meet Girls : The Seductive Power of Sincerity
I want you to think about something for a minute. I want you to remember a time when you were talking to a stranger, or someone you barely knew.
Think back on that mandatory awkwardness that seems to surround these obligatory conversations. The insipid topics discussed (Oh yes, the weather IS quite hot today!) and how you felt in that moment. (more…)

Muse Concert Review: Denver, 7/24/2006
As I sit here, drenched in sweat, trembling, and short of breath after one of the most intense cardio workouts in recent memory, I’m reminded of the feeling at the conclusion to last night’s stellar Muse show at the Fillmore.
If energy is contagious, Muse is on a mission to infect the world. (more…)
Bloc Party - Silent alarm
*Reprinted from Cash’s “Runners Up” to the Top 5 of 2005 list

South london art-punksters bloc party deliver a stuccato assult on the senses with their debut album silent alarm. With influences which seem to include everything from Joy Division and early Cure to the Pixies and maybe even Sonic Youth, the songs are tight, fast paced explorations of suburban dissociation, expired love and pop culture.
Dance-tastic.

A review of the new Mog music / social networking service
To say I dislike MySpace is to say Kevin Federline is just mildly retarded. It’s an exercise in understatement. From the uber-hipster culture that drives its continual growth to the astoundingly annoying inline music, videos and horrible asthetics of various customizations from hell (do you really think a 1072×800 neon green picture of Hello Kitty, repeated 14 times across your flaming yellow background and pushing your comments out into the margin of the screen is really a great idea?), let me be clear:
I cannot stand MySpace. (more…)
